Nils Adler is a British-Swedish multimedia journalist working for Al Jazeera English, focusing on war and extremism.

His work has been published by The Guardian, Los Angeles Times, and El País, among others.

He writes, photographs and produces video reports.

Over the past decade, he has worked in several countries, including Ukraine, Israel-Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Ethiopia, Turkey and Belarus.

He has been shortlisted for the Fetisov Journalism Awards in the Contribution to Civil Rights category for a dispatch from Iraq, and awarded Gold at the Anthem Awards in the Human & Civil Rights category for a report from Sudan.

Nils was also part of the Al Jazeera Live Page team, which received the Edward R Murrow Award for Breaking News Coverage for her reporting on Israel’s War in Gaza.

In 2026, he was nominated for a One World Media Award for his reporting from Syria.
